In 2000 twenty three percent of teens smoke cigarettes. Nowadays, a recent survey showed that only eight percent of them use tobacco. Tobacco use causes many harmful diseases to the body such as: cancer, heart conditions, diabetes, lung diseases, and high blood pressure. The American Lung Association found that about 3,900 children under eighteen years old try their first cigarette and more than 950 of these children become regular smokers. The idea of the campaign is to join forces inorder to stop these children from smoking and spread awareness about the danger of smoking. Electronic cigarettes is becoming more popular which is a bad trend that need to be stopped. The danger of the electronic cigarettes is still unknown but the scientists are working to find that out. Smoking does not only endanger the smokers themselves but also the people around them with the secondhand smoking even a little of that smoke can be harmful. Anti-smoking campaigns are becoming more popular across the country. CVS is taking a good step towards reducing the amount of cigarettes sold by stopping selling them in their stores. Also, smoking is band from many outdoor places, for example: parks, restaurants patios, recreation areas, beaches, and waiting areas.
